The Uba Sani Foundation has provided financial assistance to over one hundred victims of the recent fire incident in Shaba Ward, Kaduna North Local Government Area.

Presenting the assistance to some of the victims today, the Executive Director of Uba Sani Foundation, Malam Ibrahim Dan-Halilu, said the Chairman, Board of Trustees, Distinguished Senator, Malam Uba Sani had received with shock the news of the fire incident while on a trip abroad.

The Executive Director conveyed Senator Uba Sani’s message of sympathy to the victims and their families. He wished them fast recovery.

“The Distinguished Senator has asked me to come and commiserate with you, and provide some relief to assuage your pains. It’s my pleasure therefore to present to each and every one of you some token for your upkeep and treatment,” said Malam Dan-Halilu.

The people of Shaba Ward were thrown into confusion and panic few days ago following the fire outbreak which started from a make shift shop at the Nupe Road by Ibadan Street intersection, exploding into four other adjoining streets and inflicting various degrees of burns on the victims who include men, women and children.

Some of the affected persons were next door neighbours to the shop from where the fire started but the majority were either passersby or far away from the scene carrying out their daily activities when the fire explosion spread to their locations.

Responding on behalf of the victims, one Ismaila Abdullahi aged 35 years expressed gratitude to Uba Sani Foundation for bringing relief to them, and commended the Distinguished Senator for his generosity.

Another victim, Garba Sani, aged 12 years said “We appreciate the gift from Senator Uba Sani, we thank him and pray for him. May Allah reward him abundantly.”
