As part of his Ramadan/Sallah palliatives for the poor and vulnerable, Senator Uba Sani through his Foundation yesterday distributed rice worth over 5 million Naira to orphanage homes and other poor households in Kaduna.
The Executive Director of the Uba Sani Foundation, Malam Ibrahim Dan Haliu who presented the rice to beneficiaries, said the exercised is aimed at putting food on the table of vulnerable persons especially orphans, physically challenged and widows.
Six orphanages and other less privileges groups benefitted from the programme. They include Al-Ihsan Orphanage, Tricania, Ummu Ayta Orphanage, Unguwan Dosa, Halal Children’s Home, Malali GRA, Magajin Gari Childrens Home, Abuja Road, Jamiyyar Matan Arewa, and hundreds of disabled persons living along Kano Road Juma’at Mosque.
The beneficiaries expressed their joy for receiving the palliative during the Ramadan fasting.
“We are grateful to Uba Sani Foundation for this food donation. It came at the right time when we don’t know when the next meal is coming,” said Sarkin Guragun Kaduna, Mallam Abdullahi Ismaila.
The Sarkin Makafin Kaduna and environs, Mallam Tukur in his remarks thanked Senator Uba Sani for the kind gesture which was never expected by his members.
The President of Jamiyyar Matan Arewa (JMA), Hajiya Rabi Musa Saulawa while receiving the rice donation for orphans under its care, commended Senator Uba Sani for including her organisation among the beneficiaries.
Hajiya Rabi said the donation to JMA is a testimony of the good work that Senator Uba Sani is doing for the people of Kaduna State.
She called on other political office holders to emulate the good work of Senator Uba Sani to enhance the living standard of the less privileged in Kaduna State and Nigeria as a whole.
Also receiving the donation, the Director of Ummu Aytam Orphanage, Hajiya Zubaida Bature Uwar Marayu commended the Uba Sani Foundation for its unflinching support to orphans and widows under their care.
She noted that the Foundation donated food and other household items to the Orphanage last December only for it to bring another donation four months later.
She thanked the Foundation’s founder and Chairman, Mallam Uba Sani for the gesture, and prayed God to guide, protect, and prosper him.
In her thank you remarks, the matron of Halal Childrens Home Unguwar Rimi GRA, Mrs. Zainab Yahaya, expressed gratitude to Uba Sani Foundation for bringing succour to the orphans.
Malam Nuruddeen Hassan, Secretary General of Al-Ihsan Orphanage also thanked the Uba Sani Foundation for always coming to render assistance to its inmates.
It would be recalled that the Uba Sani Foundation in December last year donated various food items to five orphanages in Kaduna North, Kaduna South and Chikun Local Government Areas to celebrate the birthday of its founder and Chairman, Senator Uba Sani who clocked fifty-one years.
